OPERA IN PARADISE 2026
A Symphony of Artistry and Nature

OPERA IN PARADISE
23-25 OCTOBER 2026
“This is really paradise. This morning when I woke up and went outside, I was moved almost to tears by the beauty God has created.”
— Luciano Pavarotti, 1994
The maestro’s words still echo across Pangkor Laut. Each year, Opera in Paradise honors his legacy by bringing world-class musicians to the island that moved him so deeply—creating extraordinary celebrations where artistry meets natural splendor.
October 2026 continues this beloved tradition. Renowned international talents gather for an intimate weekend of performances defined by passion, precision, and artistry. Against the backdrop of two-million-year-old rainforest and emerald seas, music drifts across the water while every note finds harmony with the island’s timeless beauty.
Opera in Paradise returns to cast its spell once more—intimate, immersive, unforgettable.
Artist announcements coming soon. Let the anticipation begin.

ANDREA GRIMINELLI
Musical Director, Opera in Paradise
As Musical Director of Opera in Paradise, acclaimed Italian flautist Andrea Griminelli brings both artistic excellence and deep personal connection to Pavarotti’s legacy.
Griminelli’s distinguished 35-year career has earned him worldwide recognition—including a Grammy, the Prix de Paris, and an Italian Knighthood. His sensitive interpretations and remarkable technique have graced the world’s most prestigious stages.
But his connection to this event runs deeper: Griminelli was a close collaborator of Luciano Pavarotti himself. The maestro personally invited the then-25-year-old flautist to perform at his legendary Madison Square Garden concert—a testament to Griminelli’s extraordinary talent and their profound musical bond.
Now, as Musical Director, Griminelli honors his dear friend by guiding Opera in Paradise as a living tribute to Pavarotti’s historic performances on this island the tenor called paradise.
“Pavarotti couldn’t get enough of it, Joan Collins honeymooned there… but you don’t need to be a millionaire celebrity to holiday at the private island of Pangkor Laut.” – Daily Mail
